I always fight hard, fuck harder, and never let myself get personally involved. But my assignment, to apprehend Eduardo Miguel comes to a grinding halt when I find a missing federal witness held captive in his basement. It becomes fucking personal, fast!
Keeping Farrington safe, even if it—or more likely she—kills me, is now my only mission. But she’s terrified and fights me at every turn. Earning her trust becomes more than a way to save both our lives, it’s like an addictive drug. I need it—I need her to put her faith in me—the way I need air to breathe.
When she begins investigating the hidden parts of my soul, I almost can’t deny her.
I know I can protect her. I know I could pleasure her in one explosive night she’d always remember and I’d never forget. What I don’t know is how I could be falling so fucking hard. There’s no way in hell I can let that happen; getting too close to me comes with an ominous curse that won’t be defied.
I thought I had nothing to lose. I was wrong.
Rachel Farrington
I should’ve never taken that dangerous shortcut through the unlit alley to the frat party. It was where I saw a fellow student brutally murdered and how I made my way onto a cartel leader’s hit list.
As a federal witness, I thought I was safe in the protective custody of the FBI . . . that is until I woke up chained in the monster’s basement.
When a powerful and lethal soldier claiming to be a bounty hunter shows up, I’m not sure if he’s rescuing me or dragging me towards a greater hell. But after a series of experiences that defy death, the overwhelmingly sexy, dirty-minded, Navy Seal trained and hot blooded bounty hunter—who obviously plays by his own rules—just might win my trust.
He is not an ordinary man. He’s strong, dark and deadly; his past is mysterious and his motives unreadable. He seems to be made of the stuff of myth and legend, and of ink and steel.
Is Ryder Axton for real? Or is he employed by my captor for a more sinister purpose?
When Death comes... will we be strong enough to defy it?
***Each novel in the Brothers of Ink and Steel series focuses on one couple's journey to their HEA***

This is the third book in the Brothers of Ink and Steel series.  It is a spin-off of the True North Series.  Don’t worry, you don’t have to read True North first, I wish I would have, but I haven’t had a chance to read that series yet.  I really want to though.  You can also read this series as stand alones, they don’t need to be read in order.

This has got to be my favorite book in this series yet!  The other brothers don’t play a big role in this book.  Ryder is a bounty hunter and he’s been tasked to get a cartel leader back after his escape.  His plans change though, once he learns that Miguel has kidnapped a witness to his crime.  When he learns where she is being held, he rescues her.

Ryder is a hard ass, that’s for sure.  He fought a gator and lived, and beat it!  He would die for the people he cares for.  He had a rough like, just like his brothers have.  He has lost a lot and has closed himself off because of it.  He is cursed, oh so he thinks.

He wasn’t expecting what he got with Rachel when he rescues her though.

She is feisty and fights him for most of the rescue.  I can’t blame her; after what she’s gone through.  She doesn’t know who she can trust, and who she can’t.  So many people that were supposed to protect her, don’t and they turn on her.

I loved this story and both of these characters.  Ryder may just be my new favorite brother now, sorry Josh.  Can’t wait to read more!
