This is the fourth book in the Hope Town series.  This is a spin off of the Corps Security series.  These are the kids.  Well, this one is a little different.  Shane and Nikki aren’t Corps kids.  But Nikki has been best friends with Ember for a very, very long time.

Nikki is basically a member of the Reid family since she has been around them so long.

Shane is best friends with Nate, and also co-owns Dirty Dog with him.

Nikki and Shane have always been attracted to each other, but they both had a significant other.  Until those relationships end, but both exes not getting a clue it was over.

When Nikki needs help from Shane to keep her ex away, he jumps at helping her.  The benefits aren’t bad with the job.

Of course, it doesn’t take long for pretend to turn real.

They do have issues from their exes that both need to work through.  Shane the most.

Shane has to learn that you can’t control everything.
