✩★✩★ RELEASE DAY BLITZ for Throttled ✩★✩★
Statistic RELEASE DAY BLITZ
** Statistic by Dawn Robertson **
I just finished my ARC and OMG, fucking amazing. You will be surprised and shocked, be prepared to pick your jaw up off the floor.
Love.
Betrayal.
Deception.
Attempted Murder.
Aurora Alexander is everything headlines are made of.
Newly divorced single mother Aurora Alexander is trying to move on with her life.
After a string of unsuccessful blind dates, she turns to internet dating.
Everyone does it, so it has to be safe. Right?
Wrong.
What makes a person tick? Is it the way they are raised? Perhaps it is a genetic predisposition. Our DNA coded from the moment of conception to write out the entire way our life will play out. Of course some things will be left to chance; fate better yet. But I can tell you from personal experience, some people are just born bad.
I always did my best, despite having the genetic odds stacked against me. Saying I didn't win the parental lottery would have been one of the understatements of the century. Yet, I was always able to skate by in life. Trying not to become a statistic. Little did I know other people would take my choices away from me.
I guess most of my problems started when I got married. I was such a naïve twenty year old. I thought the world was all sunshine and roses. He was my world, my reason for living. That was until he lost interest in me. A high risk pregnancy, bed rest, sex restrictions, and a colicky baby will kill intimacy for anyone. Breastfeeding isn't sexy. Neither are the stretch marks Liam left me with. I didn't care, and I still don't. But he did, and that is why I caught him in bed with my eighteen year old babysitter when my son was barely three.
I know, my life is starting to sound like a soap opera. I wish these were the darkest days. Back then, I thought they were. I thought going through a divorce with a four year old son was the end of the world. Ha. I wish I would have known what my future would hold. What damage could be done at the hands of a stranger I thought I knew.
Does anyone truly ever know another person? My answer to that question would be no. Even the most open and honest people have dark secrets. Shit they would never reveal to anyone. You know you have those type of secrets, we all do. Hell, I do. I typically would never tell anyone. Except since the world knows most of them now, it is my turn to tell my own story.
The true story of Aurora Alexander. The real dangers of picking up strange men on the internet under the guise of dating, and new beginnings. It all began as a game. A way to spread my wings, and learn the dating game after being out of it for a decade. It ended in a violent attempt on my life.
I am a fighter. I have lived to tell my story. No one can silence me. Not even him.

Aeonian Kiss By Nicki Scalise Release, giveaway, review!
AEONIAN KISS by Nicki Scalise
Revenants in Purgatory Book 2
It wasn’t a question Olivia Brennan ever thought to ask. After all, once you've been to Hell and back, how much worse can things get? Her harrowing descent has already cost her everything - her home, her career, the man she loves. But when an enemy resurfaces looking to settle a score, she learns there’s more to lose than she ever imagined.
Purgatory harbors more secrets than the depths of Hell, and Olivia has landed smack dab in the middle of their tangled web. Faced with an impossible choice, she must reach into the darkest parts of her soul for the strength she needs to save everyone she loves. But even if she succeeds, will she ever be the same again?
Maybe some questions are better left unanswered. If there’s one thing experience has taught her, it’s that the universe loves to kick her ass.
Zane hit the floor hard, landing on his shoulder, and that's about the time I freaked out. I dropped to my knees next to him. I shook him, patted his cheeks, and screamed his name, but received no response. I didn't know anything about his "gift," as he called it. Had he just overloaded? Had I put him in some sort of weird, undead coma? Had he simply fallen asleep because the "show" bored him?
I grabbed a glass of water from my nightstand and splashed it in his face, but still got nothing. Tossing the glass aside, I looked around the room for other options, but saw none. Deciding to go get help, I jumped to my feet. Devon was right next door, after all.
I stopped halfway down the stairs, realizing if I woke Devon then I'd have to tell him what had happened. What Zane had seen. Nope, that wasn't an option. I juked back and forth on the step, having trouble deciding if I should run back up or down. I finally decided on down. My phone was downstairs. I could call someone. I ran into the kitchen and swiped it off the counter where I'd left it when I'd come in to make tea.
I tore back through the house and ran back upstairs. Who could I call? Portia and Tore were out of the question for the same reasons as Devon. Not to mention they weren't in the know about Zane's gift. My heart pounded harder as it dawned on me. There was one other option, but the question was, should I call him?
I made it back into my room to find Zane still heaped on the floor. The situation constituted an emergency. Drake would know what to do. They had been friends long enough that he'd have to know how to fix this. Even if he didn't want to speak to me, surely he'd want to help Zane. At the very least he'd probably want to know that I'd "broken" his best friend.
Teaser #2
As we lay together listening to the clock tick and the deliverymen going in and out of my new place, something inside me started to hurt, too. I tried to wipe away an unexpected tear as it danced down my cheek. I'd always known I needed Devon, but until that very moment, I'd never fully understood how much he needed me in return. My heart ached thinking about the pain he must have suffered in my absence. Just imagining losing him made me want to hold on and never let go again.
Even though I was still very much in love with Drake, as I lay there with Devon, I realized there would always be a part of my heart that was his and his alone. No man would ever be able to touch it or steal it away. That part of my heart wished we were more than friends. The little part knew we were perfect for each other and hated any woman he was with because she wasn't me. That part of me knew — with one hundred percent certainty — that in another life, there would be more to us than just a platonic love.
I believe sometimes it's possible to have a relationship with someone that transcends being friends or lovers. It's something more tangible, and only the two people in that relationship understand it, yet neither could ever explain it to an outsider. It's the very definition of beauty and peace.
It was him.
It was me.
It was us.
He was my Devon and I was his Olivia. He was my butt munch. I was his dork face. He was the love of my other life, and I, the love of his.
Teaser #3
With Mourning Inamorata in my hands, I sat on the edge of my bed. My fingers traced over the bumpy, raised surface of the paint. I imagined Drake in his studio working on it and his hand resting where mine was. Another piece of my heart broke. It was the closest contact I'd probably ever have with him again, and we were separated by unmerciful time. Drake longing in the past, me longing in the present. The connection felt just as strong and somehow just as distant as it always had.
I wiped away my tears and set the painting down on the bed. I'd only had a couple hours of shuteye, but I couldn't go back to sleep now. Everything was too painful. I didn't need a reminder that all I had left of Drake was a painting and a haunting version of what once had been.
Teaser #4
A pale moon hung in the crimson-stained sky, surrounded by ominous storm clouds. I stood on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Below me was nothing but slate and darkness. A fierce, warm wind blew, yet the black water barely rippled. A gust blew the skirt of my long black gown. The material blew in waves behind me. The long bell-sleeves caught in the breeze as I raised my hand. The air felt thick, like wet sand slipping through my fingers. I closed my eyes to allow the wind invitation to my touch, but something about it felt wrong… very wrong.

5 stars and need book 3 NOW!
Amazing story. I could not put this book down. Twists and turns had me reading so fast. I didn't want it to end! I freaking love this series and still love Drake!
Olivia just can't catch a break, AT ALL. She is heart broken and going through so much. She doesn't want to let anyone know about what she is going through or where she went. It is her weight to bare, no one elses.
The plot twists had me calling Nicki some choice words and wanting to throw my kindle at some parts. I may have even messaged her to yell at her. The twists were not predictable at all. I can't wait for book 3, and doubt that I will do so patiently. #TeamDrakeOG

Through the haze of sleep, I felt hands on me. Cold and rough. I thought for a fleeting moment that it might have been Kyle. Then, I remembered our break up. It had happened weeks ago, but maybe that part was the dream. My memory was fucked and I couldn’t latch onto a thought long enough to ride it out of the fog. Too many hands. They groped and pulled—rough against my skin and digging into muscle and bone. I tried to retreat, my back pressed into a hard surface beneath me, and my nostrils filled with the smell of musk and damp stale air. I had no idea where I was, or how I’d gotten there. I kicked and gasped, trying to get back to the surface where reality lurked, shimmering in the distance, but just out of reach, like the sun on the surface of the water during a dive. A hand latched onto my hair and held my head back. My eyelids were finally freed from the sticky muck that held me in semi-consciousness, and I opened them to find myself staring up into unfamiliar green eyes. I only held his gaze for a few seconds—if that—but it seemed like it lasted for hours as my brain fought to categorize the details. Its useless attempt to understand what was going on. The man clutching my hair had vivid green eyes, but they may as well have been black given the emotionless void they displayed. His hair was shaggy, brown with a mix of grey, the same colors that stood out in his unkempt stubble. As if he needed any help looking rough. He exhaled and his breath settled over my face, reeking of booze and cigarettes. The smell made me queasy, but I didn’t have time to dwell on that, as another set of hands tugged at my jeans. My gaze traveled around the room, taking in the small crowd. At least half a dozen men surrounded the table where they had me spread out like a holiday feast. All dressed differently, from ragged tank tops to well-fitting dark button-down shirts, but they all projected an air of unchecked danger. Necks marked with tattoos, hands covered in callouses and scars. Scruffy faces accented their sneers and smirks, as they stood above me staring down with eyes starved of humanity and full of lust. Apparently, they didn’t expect me to put up a fight, because aside from the hand tangled in my hair, no one seemed concerned with keeping a tight grip on me. Probably because they outnumbered me, and I assumed they would have no problem beating the crap out of me as I struggled. They’d downright enjoy it. Unfortunately, I didn’t fully consider how that scenario would play out. I bucked and managed to knee the one pulling on my waistband in the face. He grunted, but I can’t imagine I inflicted as much pain as his retaliatory blow to my ribs. I sucked in air and rolled, curling around the injury and gasping for each painful breath as the sickening throb exacerbated my confusion.
AUTHOR BIO
I’ve been coming up with stories for as long as I can remember, and in elementary school I began writing them all down. Ghosts and vampires, have always been my favorite beings to write about. Maybe it was growing up with a grandma who always told me about how she’d always rush home to watch Dark Shadows, and growing up reading and watching anything paranormal that I could find.
My debut, Fractured Legacy (Paranormal Urban Fantasy novella), was released on October 22, 2013, and the sequel Beyond the Divide is currently in progress and expected to release in early 2014.
I am also taking a departure from the paranormal world with a BDSM Romance, Bound and Unbroken, which will also be released in early 2014. I go where my characters lead me, and Eric and Lena decided that I needed a definite break from the paranormal.
When I’m not spending time with the voices in my head, I work in business consulting and hang out with my husband and all of our furry family members.
Random Stuff:
I LOVE Rum, but that’s probably not a secret.
I love sexy cars more than I love rum. My top picks would be a ’65 Mustang, practically any Bugatti Veyron, or an Aston Martin Vanquish.
I once based a character in a story on my husband, and the character died.
Don’t bother trying to figure it out, I never released that book.
I’ve never met some of my closest friends in person–some of them live on the other side of the world.
I never set out for anyone at work to know that I’m a writer, but now they buy my books, so it’s a good deal.
I’m not terribly good at being girly–I don’t wear makeup, only own 4 pairs of shoes, and I’ve never had a manicure.
I learned to handle a gun before I learned long division.
I cuss like a sailor unless I’m around my grandma.
While most of the people in my graduate research classes were buried in books, I was glued to the TV researching the evolving portrayal of “Indianness”.
I’ve seen Disturbed in concert 3 times.
I still have a crush on Jason David Frank (aka Tommy Oliver the Green/White Ranger)
I work with my husband and it’s the 3rd time we’ve worked for the same business.
If I’m not watching Top Gear, I’m probably watching something that was filmed before I was born. Currently, Dick Van Dyke is in my DVD player.
I have a phobia of crickets.
Should I throw you one hell of a fact if you’ve made it this far? I was diagnosed with PTSD two and a half years ago, and my doctor suggested that
I start writing again to help cope with the symptoms.

Tonya's Review of Divine Merit by V. Cantrell

Synopsis
From what was never meant to be, can they become whom they must, in order to survive?

Does she have the fortitude and inner strength needed to regain her kingdom and save her people?
Sometimes you have to stop fighting in order to win.
As captain of the Royal Guard, Caeden's priority is to protect the Royal Family. Sometimes that means protecting the naive princess from her own desires, even if he is tempted to give in. When a betrayer strikes from within, their sanctuary and very existence are threatened. Caeden must overcome the burning pain of helplessness to defeat this enemy and restore Amira to her rightful place. He will not fail his princess again.
Tonya's Review
5stars
This is an amazing read. I could not put it down. And will be patiently (well, try to be patient) waiting for the next book in this series. I am hooked on it. I am so glad I was given a chance to review this book. It's been on my TBR list since it's release. There characters are all so easy to love and connect with. Well, I loved all except for Sorin. Once you read the book, you'll understand why. I do think that he redeemed himself somewhat at the end though. Not fully, but a little bit.
Amira is the Princess of the Nephilim. She is often viewed as weak, although she is far from it. She just needs to believe in herself more. She grew so much in this book. At first she was just the naive little Princess that had a crush on the Captain of the Royal Guard, Caeden.
Caeden is an awesome character and I loved how the story line went with him.
This is definitely a series that I will continue to read. You won't be disappointed with this book, I promise.

✩★✩★ REVIEW of My Sweet Temptation ✩★✩★
Axel Marie hasn't had the greatest life, going in and out of foster homes since she was a child. Now, on her own she's doing whatever she has to do, while working as a waitress.
One late night will have her whole life changing and it shifting off its axes, and his name is Rhett Rhys.
Rhett has everything you could ever imagine, along with the looks. Seeing Axel has him chasing after her.
"Actually, you're the first girl I've chased. So be good and ill show you exactly how you'd love to be rewarded."- Rhett
Not wanting to be Rhett's new notch on his expensive bedpost, Axle tries to divert him, but he's a man on a mission.
Will excepting the expensive gifts, saying yes be a downfall for Axel? Or will Rhett be everything she's been dreaming of. She'll never know unless she takes a leap of faith, and who knows, he could be there to catch her.
"A true relationship is two imperfect people refusing to give up on each other." -Unknown
My Sweet Temptation had me going back and forth as I was reading. Rhett seemed kind of stalkerish to me and his pet names he gives Axle made me quiver and not in a good way. Now, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed their story and Rhett. He's a girls dream come true, alpha male, you're mine and I will take care of you kind of way. Just those pet names! Axel is a strong willed character, she doesn't want anything given to her, she wants to get it on her own, and she has. Their story is a fast-paced, put your seat belt on and enjoy the ride kind of read. The cover finally makes sense to me, lol. And it will you to. That was a hot scene, and there is a lot of them. I was getting really into it at the end, the drama was flowing and bam, PLOT TWIST/ CLIFFHANGER merge ahead. We are left with questions that need to be answered! Now, my only question is, whens the next one coming out? I got shit I need to know! Give this book 4 stars!

“I need to warn you,” I announce in a stiff voice, fingers curling into fists against the insane need threatening to overpower me. “I have a touching problem.”
Stopping dead in her tracks, facing away from me, Clover squeaks out, “Excuse me? What did you say?” A giggle slips past her lips, causing me to smirk. I don’t have to wait longer than a heartbeat before she burns me good. “Touching yourself? I heard boys go blind from that.”
“HA-HA!” I mock-laugh. “I don’t want to get into specifics of why, but I have a touching problem. It’s a coping mechanism, actually. If I’m anxious or happy or sad or aroused, or if the other person is anxious or happy or sad or aroused, I have to touch them. I don’t go more than a few minutes without holding a hand or patting a back. This is why I waited so long to see you face-to-face. It was safer texting you while watching from across your office.”
“Why me, though?” Clover sounds so confused that the need to touch her overcomes me.
“I don’t molest anyone. It’s not entirely sexual,” I say softly as I place my hand at the small of her back. Just that slight touch relaxes me, but it has Clover’s muscles stiffening up, almost flinching.
“Who do you touch?” Clover breathes out, thankfully not moving away from me.
“It started with Isis. I was so starved for human connection that the day Isis was born I decided she belonged to me. Since we had no mother, and Dad said all little girls needed a mother, he allowed me to coddle Isis. Then Auggie, but that was when my father wasn’t looking- but Dad knew. Nothing gross, just holding them. I liked it when they were sad or hurt, so I could comfort them. I wanted to be that person for them. I’d get pissed when they comforted each other,” I admit with a sad laugh. “After my father died, I went out of control. I used Camille to satisfy me.”
Stilling beneath my hand, “That’s why you have so many kids?” Clover asks hesitantly.
Closing my eyes, need ripples throughout my system. I knew it would be hard to be around Clover and not touch her- consume her. I waited a torturous year as proof that I could control myself. My hand slides from the small of Clover’s back to the nape of her neck. She is taut beneath my touch, so I find my fingers squeezing and releasing in a rhythmic massage to calm her.
“No,” I answer, trying not to chuckle. “I feel absolutely no shame for my needs. I love sex, but touching for me is about trust and intimacy. I like it when people come to me for comfort, like I’m the only person who can fix it. So sex… sex is the ultimate, and that is part of why I have four kids, I guess… and other reasons,” I reluctantly admit, not wanting to voice how the thought of reproduction during sex gets me off. Duplicating oneself, and the lifetime of care that follows, is what separates a man from a boy. If Camille still lived, no doubt we would have several more children. But I can’t tell Clover yet. I don’t want to frighten her off.
They are the same, both widowed, both with children who are missing the main component in a family... A mom and dad. They each have what the other needs, but can they work as a couple, not just a faucet in a family.
Clover Webster is everything to everyone around her. She's the glue that keeps her family together. God forbid she didn't do what she does and everything would fall apart. We met her in Willow's book Good Girl, but we didn't know who Clover was. No, not by any means. In Widow we see a totally different side of Clover. She hides well. She's lonely, holding onto something that is never going to happen. She's just the ghost of the girl she use to be. But with everything, she still has to be the Clover everyone needs.
"Just once, I want to come first in someones life, even in my own. I want the Liberty to fall and know someone will catch me before I land."- Clover
Malcolm Mason. Damn that man. Malcolm is the police chief, father of 4 and a widower. He's lonely, has been for a long time. Putting his children and work above all else, that includes finding a mate.
Both Clover and Malcolm's significant others left them, one by cancer one by their own hands. They both know what its like to raise a family alone. Not having that special somebody to lean on for support, to hold onto in bed.
With text and emails, a Clover and Malcolm will come to an understanding. Well, Clover will. She will be Malcolm's wife, it will happen. What a crazy person right?!
"I like a bitch. I like messy and chaotic, too. I want you unraveled and writhing beneath me."- Malcolm
These two level each other out, they have what the other has been searching for, but with everything going on around them can they fall into a relationship, or will the pass hold Clover back?
"You're perfect for me, little bitch. I promise you'll never regret me."- Malcolm
"loving you is so easy. It's easy as breathing."- Clover
Also Available in the Blended Series
There aren’t many options for a girl who falls in the middle. I wasn’t an athlete or a geek. I wasn’t an artist or a musician. I didn’t shake my pom-poms along with my ass. I was just a good girl, who got good grades, and kept her mouth shut. I didn’t date my high school sweetheart and promptly get married the second I was handed my diploma. I’m not shiny enough to attract notice, nor dark enough to be a problem.
I don’t have a tragic sob story. My daddy didn’t leave us destitute, and I’m not a victim of a bad neighborhood. I am a middle-America, middle of the road, middle class girl with both parents fussing over their youngest daughter, who has no aspirations or goals. I’ve had every opportunity to succeed- supportive parents, stability, and a strong upbringing. I’m wayward and everyone looks at me like I’m an alien.
My philosophy: how should I know what I want to do with the rest of my life the day I graduate? How am I supposed to know the second I turn eighteen what I am destined to become? One moment you are a disillusioned seventeen year old with the world at your fingertips, and the next, congratulations, you’re eighteen and you’re on your own.
Disclaimer: The Blended Series is for mature audiences only. 18+ Contemporary Romance with an erotic twist. Good Girl features bisexual themes and sexual content that some may find disturbing. Drug Use is prevalent, without being Pro-Drug or Anti-Drug. Recreational Drug users and abusers are in our everyday life, and the Blended Series is nothing if not reality.
