About Seducing the Stargazer:

With over one hundred million asteroids in the solar system, it took only one to bring them together again. The stars have been the only constant in astronomer Winchester Carlsbad’s life. A pistol, she will do anything to continue her research on the Martian moons. When she discovers an asteroid on collision course with her former love’s rocket launch, she not only sees her opportunity to secure her telescope time, but to finally best the man who propelled her heart into a black hole when he walked away from her five years ago. Billionaire Dr. Garner Knox is the face of astronomy to the public and a media darling. As spokesperson and investor in Personal Space, a privately owned space corporation, he has only one problem—his company can’t seem to get anything up. When Wynn fires back into his life and throws his mission into a tailspin, he knows he must get the one person who never believed in him to help him get his probe into orbit. Working with Garner, Wynn battles the for profit space agency as well the sexy stargazer who rekindles her desires and makes her fall all over again. EXCERPT

Before entering Wynn’s suite, he paused. At last he carefully opened the door and glanced up at his sparkling faux star-studded sky. All the lights were off. No doubt she went to sleep. Did she think of him?
Unsure of his next move, he tiptoed to the bedroom and stood in the doorway
In the shadows, he spotted Wynn’s form in the covers. For a moment he simply stood there. There was something comforting and jarring about having her here with him, under his roof.
“Garner? What are you doing?” Her voice came out heavy, laced with sleep.
“Watching you.” Yes, he stated the obvious.
She yawned and stretched. The little bit of light from the window illuminated her curves. “Why? You can barely stand the sight of me.”
“You’re light years away from the right answer on that one.” He crossed over the threshold.
“What is the right answer?”
After all this time, she still didn’t get it, didn’t understand there wasn’t a more gorgeous woman, one who matched him the way she did, yet vexed him. Though he tried to ignore her, his thoughts always returned to his sexy stargazer. Since that night in their college observatory, there had been no one else who could even attempt to occupy the same place in his mind. “You are a vision. I can’t stop looking at you.”
“I’m merely a concession in your quest to get Personal Space up in the air.” Her tone lowered, draped with a bit of sadness.
“Again, untrue. First, let it be said that if I personally have to buy time on the Maverick probe to give a scientist a chance, I’ll do it.” He inched closer. For the last two weeks they had gone through the motions of work, but never talked. The fact he raced back to her told him everything he needed to know about wanting the woman in front of him. “Second, a concession is giving up something in order to get something better.”
“Then what am I?” she whispered.
“My obsession.” In two words he laid his cards on the table.
The room silenced then, without a word, she pulled back the covers on the opposite side of the bed.
At her invitation, he kicked off his shoes and pulled his shirt over his head, dropping it to the floor. Though his first thought was to join her, take her into his arms and be with her, he resisted. He still needed to continue his work, and she still needed to see him as something other than a talking head. Then again, he rushed home and came straight to her room. His one action said more than anything.
She sat up and let the blankets pool around her waist. “Apparently, you obsess from afar.”
With nothing on, the shadows outlined the swell of her breasts. His mouth watered and his erection thickened, causing him to run his hand over the bulge in his pants. “I tried to overcome it.”
“Then I ask again, why are you here?” She leaned back on the bed.
“I have to have you.” That was the one truth he could rely on. He unbuckled his belt and pulled the fly of his jeans open.
“What do you plan on doing about it?” She slid the covers off, revealing her gorgeous naked form.
“There’s only thing I can do.” Once ridding himself of his pants, he approached the edge of the bed. Without even touching her, his arousal grew.
She squirmed on the bed and lifted on knee. “What might that be?”
“I have to make love to you.” Finally, he joined her, took her into his arms, and gave her a deep kiss.

Facade Teaser 4

    Excerpt
Beyond her control, she made her way up on the stage and over to his side as he went into the second verse. All she wanted to do was touch him, make sure he was real and not something she conjured the last few days. After singing the chorus, he motioned to her and pointed at the music. He wanted her to sing? Interrupt the perfection? She wanted to listen to him and shook her head. Again, he pointed to the music. Powerless to do anything less than what he asked, she got the feel for the tune, waited for the right moment and sang the third verse. Though she didn’t think she did the song anywhere near the justice Erik did, he must have been pleased by the way he smiled. His song spoke of love, longing and those things unattainable, the perfect message for both of them in many ways. Yes, he had given her a few lessons, but this was the first time she felt like they were creating art, connected on a deeper level, him on the piano, her with her voice, both working toward the same goal of creating the perfect song. When they reached the chorus, his voice joined hers. Christine fought not to stumble on the words. She didn’t want to break the magic of the way their two voices melded together, his supporting hers, taking her to new heights. It was an experience unlike any other she’d ever experienced. They repeated the chorus and the music ended. Erik’s last note hung in the air and Christine wished she could reach out, grab it and hold it in her heart forever. Panting, they turned to each other. He stared into her face, then he reached forward. Her breath hitched. Now he should kiss her. They both felt it, right? Rather than take her into his arms, his fingertip grazed her cheek and wiped a tear she didn’t even know she’d shed. His eyes firmly affixed on hers, he put his fingertip to his mouth. “Erik?” She didn’t really know what question she wanted to ask. “Beautiful.” He grazed the back of his hand along her cheek, down to her jaw and her neck. The way he touched her roused every nerve ending in her body. She had to have him. He found her, they belonged together. “Erik.” This time she gasped his name. “You should rest your voice.” He slid his hand down her shoulder, bowed and walked away. Again, she was left standing on the stage alone.

GOLDEN EYES, LONG, LAYERED black hair that framed his face, tall, lean and powerful. When Christine pictured her ghost, never in her wildest dreams, did she think she would conjure a man who was only a little older than her and looked like rock star crossed with a sexy superhero, or maybe even a super villain. Heck, the man even wore a white mask over half his face. All he needed was a cape to go with his tight white button down and equally as tight and much more impressive black jeans.

Did she ask about the mask or was it apparent why he wore it? What did she do now? No matter what he looked like, she had to hug her benefactor.

She swore she felt him shaking when she wrapped her arms around him, but it didn’t stop her.

After what seemed like an eternity, he gave her a light embrace. She didn’t know why her breath caught or why she didn’t want to let go.

He stepped back first and stared into her face.

Neither of them spoke. As if they each needed to assess the other, they simply stood there.

“Erik?” She had to say something.

“Come on.” He took her arm. “We have to get you formally settled. We have a lot of work to do if you’re going to be ready for that audition.”

“You said something about some ground rules?” She hurried to keep up with him.

Without another word, he led her backstage to a set of stairs.

Maybe she was insane, but it never occurred for her not to follow him. Instead, she kept tight hold of him while he led her into the dimly lit passageway and brought her down two flights of stairs. The door he opened showed pitch-black nothingness.

“Erik!” With a gasp, she pulled him closer.

“Another thing we need to work on is your fear of the dark.” His smooth voice seemed to caress her. “The darkness is nothing to fear. Trust me, bright light can hold just as many horrors.”

Facade Teaser

  Excerpt
Ten years ago… THE STANDING OVATION. Erik Renevant and the rest of his band, Spectre, stood off stage watching the standing ovation. The clapping continued until it took on a chant-like rhythm. Everyone there was waiting for one thing, the final song, the one that came after the standing ovation. He glanced at his band mates. There was an exact moment when one gave in, returned to the stage and performed the song the fans came to hear. The time was now, and Upton, their drummer, grabbed his sticks and went first. The crowd roared with excitement as Upton took the throne. Once seated, Phil, their bassist, went next. Though rock music seemed chaotic and random, there was a definite ritual to everything. Nash, Erik’s best friend and Spectre’s lead guitarist, saluted him, and instrument in hand, jogged out to the stage. Erik waited a minute more. Everyone waited for the lead singer, and when the exact right frenzy took over the audience and the band began to play the beginning notes of their penultimate song, Shadow Light, he came out, taking his time to let the crowd relax, take them in and let them take him in. Perfectly timed pyrotechnics shot flames with each one of his footsteps and he made his way center stage. The music he wrote throbbed in time with his heartbeat and at last he sang the rock ballad that made him a superstar. His song spoke of love, loss and of saying goodbye. Every person in that stadium felt they owned those words. At last, the song ended, leaving the thousands of people in silent awe. He and his bandmates took one final bow. Now they would disappear in a wall of fire, a perfect end for a band named after a ghost, a stunt he personally designed. Erik never made it to his mark before his world exploded. The flames shot him in the face, heat raged through him, burning and melting him, and his bandmates screamed as the stage collapsed.
