Meet the Coalsons:

But, like Lucky, she’s not what she appears to be and what happens in Vegas follows Lucky back home with unimaginable consequences.
Brandon and Nick foil an attempt to assassinate a pretty private eye and her sweet sister. Together with Sam and his best SEAL buddies, Jax and Noah, they vow to bring the ringleader to justice and rid their town of the criminals. Not to mention, the new secretary is definitely hiding something and it’s going to take all of Brandon’s sensuous skills to find her secret before a psycho ends her life.
But nothing goes according to plan, and the men must fight Mother Nature, a murderer, and local law enforcement. When Lucky’s luck runs out, the private eye sisters forge a bond with the brothers to find the real killer.
While it appears the whole community is going to hell in a hand-basket, Hank and Ginny Coalson are thankful that their youngest son, Tanner, and Dixie’s younger brother, Jamie, are away at school. But are they safe enough, when the drug lord and a murderer combine forces that leaves a family member dead? No one knows where or when the criminals will strike, so Hank and his sons make their own preparations and in the end, no one is in doubt that the Coalsons are taking back their town.

Whistlin' Dixie
This is the debut novel by Maggie Adams. It was a decent
read. Parts felt rushed to me though and I feel like there are some holes in
the story with Mac and Dixie falling in love. But it is a series I would still
like to read more of.
Dixie is a spitfire. She is a kindergarten teacher, 21, and
raising her 16 year old brother. Oh and she may be short, but don't make her
mad, she has a huge temper! I really liked her.
Mac owns a construction company that keeps getting
vandalized. He tries to come off a complete alpha, but he's not. He's just a
great businessman that loves his family and community.
Trespassers are caught at one of Mac's job sites. Well, one
of those trespassers is Dixie's little brother.
Mac and Dixie butt heads from the start. I like how Dixie
didn't back down from him at all. They are both too stubborn for their own
good.
Overall, I would tell people to read the sample and take it
from there. It's not a bad read, just left me hanging a bit.
Leather and Lace
This is the second book in the Tempered Steel Series.
Although the main characters are different in this book, I do recommend that
you read Whistlin' Dixie first because of a story line that does continue
through out both books, and will continue through the next one as well. I
really enjoyed this story and the characters in this book, just like in the
first.
Angel Devereaux has loved Sam since she was in high school.
Her father tried to keep them apart, and he succeeded, but now that Sam is
back, Angel will not stop trying to get him back and let her explain to him
what happened in the past.
Sam Coalson is an Ex Navy Seal. He is finally home, but he
doesn't want to face his past. He still loves Angel, even though she betrayed
him in the worst possible way. Or so he thinks. But until he is ready to face
it and her the truth from her, they can't move forward.
"This love I have for you is so intense, so potent, I
can't think straight half the time. you are the only person who has ever been
able to stir in me such passion. Or such anger," he confessed ruefully.
"I love you Angel, and yet, in my insecure moments, I find myself doubting
you."
Not only do they have to deal with trying to get back
together and their past, and future. But the Coalson's are still trying to find
out who set the fire and who is behind all the vandalism. Plus what was
happening at Angel's house!
I am really enjoying this series and it is one that I will
continue to read.
Something's Gotta Give
I really am hooked on the Coalson brothers. Every book has
been good, enjoyable, and has kept my attention. This one is no different. This
is the third book in the series. While this could be read as a standalone, I
highly recommend you read the books in order. The romance is a standalone, but
there is a storyline that does continue throughout the stories.
This is Chance Coalson’s story.
Chance is the town’s playboy. In the previous books, he was
saved from a fire in the Coalson’s office. Georgia is the one that saved him.
He met her when he was 20 and she was 14. Now, they are older and he loves her.
This is his story of trying to win her over and get his forever with her.
“Don’t, Georgia. Don’t fuckin’ do this to me again. I can
only accept forever from you. I can only accept your undying love and trust,
forever.”
Georgia Haines has loved Chance since she was 14 and he
comforted her at her mom’s funeral. She lived with Missy Dee after her mom’s
death, at her foster home. Her father left her mom when she was pregnant, and
with seeing all the kids coming through the foster home with dead beat dads, or
like her, and no dad at all, has caused a huge wall to be built around her
heart. She can’t trust men, all they do is leave. Is Chance any different?
Boy does Chance have his work cut out for him!
I do want an update on these two!
Things are getting interesting with the search for who is
behind the arson. I can’t wait for the next book!
Love, Marriage & Mayhem
This is the fourth book in the Tempered Steel series. They
must be read in order. Each book is centered around a different Coalson brother
finding his love, but there is a continuing story line throughout all the
books. Someone is trying to destroy their family.
This is Brandon’s story. With a little of Lucky thrown in
and all the other family members as well.
I did really like Brandon and Anna. They are both great.
Anna is super shy, but she would do anything for the twins.
At the end of the last book, I didn’t like Claudia. I
absolutely hate her now. She’s such a cold hearted bitch! Poor Lucky.
Things are starting to piece together on who is behind
everything, but the why is still out of reach.
Getting Lucky
Getting Lucky is book 3.5 in the Tempered Steel series. You
do need to read the books in order because there is a continuing story line
throughout all the books. This is a great, quick read.
Lucky Coalson goes to Vegas to follow a lead on who is out
to get his family. He wasn’t expecting Claudia though.
What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas.
Sometimes it will come home with you.
I love Lucky and his brothers. I loved Claudia the entire
book also…
Until the ending. Now I’m just like WTF!
Can’t wait for the next book in this series. I have to find
out what is going on!!
Forged in Fire
I love the Coalson brothers, especially Lucky. I really felt for him in the previous book
because of what Claudia did to him and his family.
We finally get who is behind everything, and why they are
after the Coalsons.
Lucky goes through something really bad in this book. He’s arrested and needs to clear his name.
This is where Renee comes in. She’s been hired to help solve the whole
situation. She’s a great P.I.. And she has the help of her sister, Rebecca.
They make a great team together.
You do need to read this series in order because of the
continuing storyline.
The reason for the 3.5 stars, the story between Lucky and Renee
just felt too rushed. I didn’t feel a
connection between them at all. I didn’t
see their relationship develop. They
constantly argued when together at the beginning, then boom, they’re
together. It would have been nice to see
more development there.
I will still continue to read this series, I really do like
it. This one was just a little off for
me. I’m in the minority about it, and I
would still recommend to friends.
