You know those fights you have in high school with your sweetheart? The earth shattering variety that changes everything? I instigated one, and it started me on a course that would change the rest of my life.
After seeing Brody with so many girls, I turned to Sebastian --the new kid in town-- to help me forget. When he enlisted after graduation, I married him. Then one day a knock on the door changed my world.
I stayed in that little Army town in Alaska for five more years, sleeping in our bed, washing our dishes in the same house that he last walked out of, until my gran called me home.
Imagine my surprise when the first thing I see after stepping out of my minivan, is Brody Denton.
Tonya's 4 Star Review
When I signed up to review this
book, I hadn't realized it was book 4 in a series. The synopsis is what grabbed me. I'm a military wife myself, so a sucker for
this type of book. This is the first
book by Brandace Morrow that I have read.
I do plan on reading the other 3 in this series as soon as I get some
time too. I thought it was a good book
about getting a second chance with your first love.
Jules and Brody were high school
sweethearts and each others first love.
Until Jules had a huge freakout and said some things. Even though they knew they would end up
together after high school, it didn't quiet work out that way for them.
Jules ended up pregnant and married
living in Alaska with the new bad boy in their town and school, Sebastian. He gave her three beautiful kids. But they were apart more than together. That's the life of the military. But tragedy strikes and IED takes Sebastian
away forever. She stays in Alaska for
almost 6 years after he's gone. But when
her grandma dies and leaves Jules her farm.
She knows it's time to go home.
Brody is there. He's basically been waiting for Jules.
"You're my end, Juliet. You're it.
Yes, I have loved after you, and I may well have to love again. But I've loved you my whole life, and all of
the times in between. Even when I
thought I didn't. Even when I didn't
want to."
I did enjoy this book, it was a
quick read for me. There was a little
conflict with them getting together.
Mostly Jules' guilt. I'm odd, I
like more conflict. I was left wondering
what Brody did to Marshall's dad and what happened with Brody's sister
though.
