EMILY ECK
About this author
Emily is a Midwestern Gal, but
could be anywhere as you read this. She gypsy's the country, as well as south
of the border. Adventure feeds her soul, and offers great writing material. She
loves kids and working with kids, but can only handle caring for four-legged
furry friends. A crazy dog and laid back cat have trained her to be their
partner in life. Vices include Swedish Fish, ignoring chores in favor of
reading, and caring too much for people in her life. She chose to write this
bio in third person as she is an Aries, and found writing in first person ended
up with her writing an excessively long life story. Aries like to talk about
themselves. It is something Emily is working on being more mindful of.

***This is a standalone novel.***
This isn't a story about a BLACK man and a WHITE woman who
fall in love. It's not a story about how opposites attract. It's not a story
about unity or overcoming society's expectations, delusions, biases, or
criticisms. And it sure as hell isn't a story about how two people changed the
country's view on race and love.
This is a story about two people who have more in common
than everyone thinks. This is a story about a man who's been hurt by the woman
he should've trusted most, and a woman who thinks romantic love is just a myth
Hallmark invented.
This is a story about two people who discover they just...
fit. This is a story about two people who are better together than apart, who
learn that not only does love exist, but when it's meant to be, it's easy. It's
fun. It's a small slice of heaven in this shitty thing we call life.
This is the story of two people who find love. Two people
who know the color of their skin is just a shell that houses what's inside—and
it's what's inside that counts. It's what's inside that they love about each
other.
They just can't seem to understand why no one sees it, and
why the differences in their skin color have to be the topic of every
conversation. Or why everyone expects, no, wants their love to fall apart.
This is a story about two people on a journey, but their
journey isn't about falling in love. Falling in love was easy. The journey is
about staying together when everyone is hell-bent on tearing them apart.
...just because he's a black man, and she's a white woman.

This is another great read by Emily Eck. Most people don't
realize the struggles and worries that interracial couples can, and still do,
face. I am white and married, happily, to a black man for 9 years now. Luckily,
we didn't go through everything Denise and Michael did. Yes, I have had some family
members that weren't happy at first, but luckily for us, we, and our daughter,
changed them and made them realize that love doesn't see colors, it is color
blind. Yes, I have concerns about our daughter, and we will deal with it, if
and when it happens.
Neither Denise or Michael have had an easy life. Both were
unloved and unwanted foster kids. That is until they find each other at
community service. They both found something neither knew they wanted, existed,
or needed....LOVE
But what happens when they are slapped in the face with
racism that still exists? Will they make it through, or will it just be too
hard and too much to handle? Is love worth it?
"I was addicted to us, the things we made each other
feel when we were together like this. It was raw and primal, yet the most
honest expression f love I'd ever experienced."
I did love the paintings done by WKTO and the little
explanation by him about why he did those paintings.
This story really asks, is love enough?

**This is a standalone novel.**
Sara has lived most of her life in silence, her only outlet
being family BBQs where she sings like an angel. When her wild, guitar playing
cousin talks her into singing at a club, her world is turned upside down. She
is forced to face a world she has spent most of her life avoiding and is
crippled with fear.
One set of dark, brooding eyes at a show in Cincinnati
changes everything. Gio breaks Sara so he can rebuild her. He makes her feel
alive in a way she's never experienced. Unfortunately, he's not what he seems
and Sara isn't sure she can forgive him. Though his intentions are good, she
knows a relationship cannot be built on lies so she retreats back to her silent
world.
When Hollywood comes knocking on Sara's door, he's the only
one who stands a chance at convincing her to leave her silent life and move to
LA. Gio is determined to make Sara trust and love him, but Sara is stubborn and
scared, a combination that no one is sure she can overcome.
*Warning* This book contains sex, backstage debauchery, and
a good amount of barf bags. Recommended for readers over 18.

What another great read from Emily Eck!
Sara is a stutterer. She has lived her life getting laughed
at and made fun of for something she has no control over. She's been asked if
she's not mentally all there because of her speech disorder. The only place she
can be herself and come out of her shell is at her family's Sunday BBQs. That's
the only place she is comfortable. At work, she doesn't talk much, she comes
across as shy, quiet, and even a bitch. But that's better than people knowing
the truth (she thinks).
She can sing though. And is amazing at it. She doesn't
stutter while she sings. She is the lead singer of a band. Her cousin, Lila,
and friend, EZ, are also in it. Because of her stuttering, Lila is the
"front man" of the band. Sara doesn't speak to the crowd, only sings,
then hangs out behind wherever they are performing and has a few beers.
Gio is the mystery man Sara sees, and focuses on at one of
their shows. They end up meeting a few shows later and things take off from
there. He isn't completely honest with Sara though.
I really loved this book. I loved how Emily showed how the
stuttering affected Sara's life in every aspect of it. Honestly, I never
thought it affected people like that. I was never a "mean girl"
though and didn't make fun of friends that did stutter. I loved the
"rules". I did cry while reading this book, not going to say where.
But I will say this "Seize Love." You'll understand hen you get to
that part.
Oh and I love how parts of the book took place in my
hometown of South Bend, Indiana!

Elle isn't looking for love.
Hardened by years on the streets, she's learned to take care of herself by
covering her heart with ice and keeping men at arm's length. She's not weak and
she doesn't need to be saved. But she wouldn't mind getting laid a little more
often.
J's covered his heart with
steel. He owe's his life to an MC that is not what it seems. Since he knows his
priority must be to the club's demands, no matter how illegal, he decided a
long time ago that love didn't fit anywhere in his life.
A not so chance, but
definitely hot encounter on a crowded dance floor should be enough for J, but
he can't seem to stay away from Elle. As she begins to melt his steel, and he
manages to chip away her ice, his forced loyalty to the MC threatens to tear them
apart. When the risk becomes greater than J expected, will love be enough to
keep Elle from freezing her heart to him?

4.5 Stars
This book is a strong 4.5
stars for me. I do wish that it would have been duel POV so that we could see
what J was doing and what was going on in his head too. I'm real curious about
it lol. I did take a couple chapters to get use to the slang that was used
because it's not slang that I normally hear. But it was easy to pick up on. I
loved how we could see all the positive changes in Elle from the beginning to
the end of this story. I love how her character is growing and changing. This
is a series I am now hooked on and can't wait to start the next book

I know I'm a monster, but Elle
made me feel like a man. If she knew what I did, about my life with MM, she'd
never love me. So I lied. Well, I starfished, and in the end, it brought my
world crashing down around me.
I can't go back to being a
monster, because that would mean existing without Elle. So I've made a plan. A
plan that could kill me. It doesn't matter though, because I'd rather be dead
than live a life without Elle in it.
If I survive, will Elle
forgive me? If I tell her everything, will she see past the monster? Will she
see the man?

I'm so glad that this novella
put us in J's head. We found out why he doesn't like the MC he is in and a
little more backstory to him and what happened with the MC. How he truly feels
about Elle, from his prospective. Great, quick, short read about that. Will be
starting the next asap.

Elle was never broken.
She wasn't shattered.
And she sure as hell never needed to be saved.
That is,
until she found out what the aftermath of love was capable
of causing.
Doing her best to stay afloat amidst the sh!t storm that has
become her life, Elle is hanging on by a thread. Between worrying about
Fernie’s precarious future, an incident with a Shemar Moore look-alike gone
terribly wrong, and an inability to let go of her feelings for J, Elle just
can’t seem to get her head straight.
Deciding a change of atmosphere is what she needs, Elle
heads to Mexico to study abroad for a semester.
She has no idea that she is walking into an even worse
storm.
One that involves a pissed off MC President, a ruthless drug
cartel, and a man willing to die to have her light.

wow, great read. There isn't a lot of J in this book, but he
is talked about a lot in this. Elle has to come to an understanding about being
shot by J. She is shattered. Her head tells her one thing, but her heart tells
her another. You do need to read the previous books in this series before
reading this one. We get to see a whole different side of Elle in this book.
Her emotional side. And she gets very emotional. I really felt bad for her. You
can see the changes that she's going through. Can't wait to read more. I still
wish it was in duel POV. Oh and we can't forget about Jose either. I'm really
liking him

I finished Melted & Shattered and wasn't 100% sure how J
was going to handle that ending. It happened out of nowhere. I was chilling on
my couch when J literally roared in my head. This is what he said.
Light – She's filled with it. I want it. I need it. I crave
it. Her light is my drug, and I am in a constant state of withdrawal when she
isn't around.
Rewind – I may not have been there while Elle was falling
apart, but I always had eyes on her. More importantly, I never stopped thinking
of her, loving her. She's the reason I'm in the middle of a drug war. She's the
reason I'm in Mexico staring in the eyes of a drug cartel boss.
Press Play – I'd tear the world apart for Elle, and I just
might have to after what happened in the park. I won't stop until she is safe.
I won't sleep until she is next to me.
Because if she dies--
so do I.

I really love getting these glimpses into J. Honestly, he's
at all ends of the spectrum. He's alpha, but he let's Elle be in control when
she needs to be. He's a killer, but he has a huge heart and he loves Elle so
much. He would do anything for her, including kill for her. And wow, what a way
to end this novella. Can't wait to start the next one.

Told from dual points of view, Elle and J must figure out
how to bring down an MC, steer clear of flying bullets in Missouri and south of
the border, all the while making sure Fernie is out of the line of fire. Elle's
love for J is tested, as is her belief that she will ever find
"normal" with the man she loves.
J is determined to make things right so he can give Elle the
"normal" life she deserves. He just has to stay alive to make it
happen. With his own personal sun by his side, he knows nothing is impossible.
That is, until the bullets are redirected from his head to Elle's.
Elle: I held my hand up, showing him the ring he’d put on
me. “This is us,” I told him. It was more than a ring. Well, to me it was more.
“I promise to love you ‘til the day I die.”
J:"Us, baby. This is us. I'll love you 'til the sun
ceases to shine."
