17 Marigold Lane
Prudence Penderhaus, a high school senior diagnosed with cancer,
uncovers an odd boy and small-town corruption under dreary Pacific Northwest skies.
In a town like Flintlock, Prudence Penderhaus was a freak. A weirdo. A loser of epic proportions.
That was until one word changed her life, and the town of Flintlock, forever.
When a moment of long-awaited courage brings her to the porch of the town-dubbed spook house,
uncovering an odd boy no one knew existed is only the beginning.
My name is Prudence Penderhaus.
I've never done anything remarkable.
Never even bothered to look up.
Until the day I found out I was dying.

Not your daughter’s YA!
What do you do when you find out you may die soon?
Well, if you’re Prudence Penderhaus, you get brave.
She visits the spook house.
That one visit, changes the lives of a few people. Especially Cassius Shooster.
No one knew about Cassius.
The boy hidden away. The high functioning
Autistic boy. The dangerous boy.
Now, there is a lot that happens, so I don’t want to say too
much.
The writing is great and kept my attention, which hasn’t
been an easy feat lately. RM Gilmore did
a fantastic job of writing Cassius and showing us just a glimpse of what he is
capable of. Just because you’re
different, doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with you, or that you’re
dangerous.
I can’t wait for 19 Marigold Lane. What will Pru stir up next?
