Title: My Unexpected Love
Series: The Beaumont Series: Next Generation #2
Author: Heidi McLaughlin
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: April 12, 2018
Cover Design: Sarah Hansen @ Okay Creations
Ben Miller met the love of his life the day he crossed paths with Elle James in their high school cafeteria. New to Beaumont, he took a chance when he approached her. Their first encounter was everything his mother ever read to him about fairy tales. He saw the girl who would be his forever.
From the moment Elle James met Ben Miller they’ve been best friends. Everything they did, they did it together, from late night study sessions, family vacations, throwing bottles off the water tower, going to prom and finally moving to California for college.
However, after the almost tragic accident where she nearly lost her twin sister, Elle’s life hasn’t been the same, and neither has her relationship with Ben.
One fateful decision changes the scope of Ben and Elle’s relationship. For one, it means a new beginning. For the other, it means change.

This is the second book in the Beaumont – Next Generation series.  It is a spinoff on the Beaumont series.  I do recommend you read book one first though.  You will see what Peyton went through and why Elle is acting out the way that she is in this book.

I really wanted to love this story.  But Elle just rubbed me wrong the entire boo*k8.  She’s spoiled and selfish.  I understand she went through something very traumatic.  But so did the others.   She is lost for most of the book.

Yes, she made some changes, but I felt they were almost a little too late.

It’s not that I didn’t like her.  I do, but I don’t love her.

Ben is an amazing guy.  He’s there for Elle no matter what.  They have been best friends forever.  But Elle has treated him horribly.  He’s in love with her though.  I actually sort of liked Talia and wish he would have ended up with her.

Don’t get me wrong.  I really enjoyed reading this.
